Exciting news! Your Wondermade order has arrived! We know you're thrilled, but let's quickly go over how to make sure your prints last and look fantastic!

JUST PEEL & STICK!

Fabric decals - We have sourced the highest quality material, with longevity and ease of use in mind. It is the most trusted fabric material on the market - that is PhotoTex.  It is Class A fire rated, non-toxic, biodegradable and free from harmful phthalates. 

Vinyl decals - are a perfect option for outdoor applications. They are removable and reusable (up to 1 year).  If applied to a plaster wall, we recommend moving them every few months. They can be cleaned with regular soap and water on a cloth. Do NOT use solvents to clean with. 

PAPER ART PRINTS


Our Art prints are printed on 235gsm smooth matte art paper. 


Preparation (fabric decals)

Wall decals do not adhere to walls with Wash & Wear and Teflon paint. Ensure that your walls have been properly primed and the paint is not flaking. We can’t guarantee the quality of the bond between the existing paint and the existing wall. We recommend the “Viponds self-adhesive prep coat” for priming the wall. Wait for 6 weeks before applying the decals to newly painted walls.

Walls must be clean. Applying a decal to a dusty wall will affect the adhesive and it will not stick. Clean the wall at least twice with a damp lint-free cloth, always wiping in one direction. Do not use any chemicals as they will affect the adhesive. Wait 24hrs to apply the decals, ensuring the wall is completely dry.

 

Application (fabric  decals)

Gently peel back the backing sheet 15-20cm and align the decal on the wall at your starting point.

Once in position, peel back the backing sheet 10cm at a time.                                   —>

Smooth the material from the middle to the edges, applying good pressure during application.

Peel and reapply to release air bubbles. We recommend an extra pair of hands for large wall decals.

Preparation (vinyl decals)  - Clean the substrate  with a rag soaked in a mix of isopropyl alcohol and water, then dry it with a lint-free paper towel before the solvent dries.

Fill a spray bottle with water and a few drops of dish soap


Application (vinyl decals) - Flip the graphic upside down and peel the backing off instead of trying to lift the graphic.

Give the substrate a light misting with the spray bottle fluid, using as little as needed.

Place the vinyl, reposition as necessary, and use a squeegee to firmly remove all liquid and air from the centre outward. To avoid marks, place a piece of baking paper between the squeegee and the vinyl. 

Note: It is only necessary to use the  above “wet method” when applying larger pieces such as maps and fridge decals.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER

  • Our PhotoTex decals are almost immortal! They can be re-applied over and over…  but once the adhesive collects too much dirt, dust, or fibres, it will become less effective and may not stick as well.

  • Please make sure the wall has been properly primed and the paint is not flaking. We can’t guarantee the quality of the bond between the existing paint and the existing wall. 

  • Our decals can be used outdoors but please choose a position that ensures they are protected from the elements. This excludes our Vinyl range that is suitable for outdoor applications.

  • Cleaning: PhotoTex Fabric decals can be wiped down with a damp cloth on the printed side to remove dust and marks. Art prints cannot. Vinyl decals can be wiped with soap and water.

  • Keep the backing paper & tube if you intend to move home, as it makes for easier transport.

  • Decals are not recommended for use on paints containing Teflon or on wash & wear paints.

  • Our PhotoTex decals are perfect for smooth surfaces only (except on glass or metal).
